I’ve had a few requests to do a blog on a few of the things you’ve seen me do with the babes over the last couple of weeks. Every week, we try to do some type of ‘messy’ activity. Since Bryan is home with me on Friday’s we usually do them during the day!
Last week, we did an edible finger painting session! I’m going to list the easiest recipe to make the paint and everything we did to make it as smooth an activity as possible with the three littles.
Ingredients:
Plain Yogurt
Kool-Aid Packets
All I did was take a Tablespoon and do a big scoop into each bowl I had setup. From there, I added the individual colors. This recipe made it so that the Babes could eat it but they actually wouldn’t like the way it tasted. Bryan tried it and said it was extremely tart.
After I had the Kool-Aid packets mixed in, I added yogurt here and there to get the colors that I wanted. I had three pieces of poster board and I used picture putty to get them to stick to my floors. Then we proceeded to gate us into our dining room. Hardwood floors and easy to clean walls.
We just kept the babes in their diapers because we figured we’d be going straight to the bathtub anyways. Plus, I do enough laundry already! Haha. I globbed some paint onto the individual poster boards and let the kids go to town.
I wasn’t sure what their reaction would be, but it seemed like they knew exactly what to do with it! They jumped right in and laughed and switched posters while they painted. They had it on their legs and arms and you’ll see in one picture Brody did try to eat it. Not even kidding, he didn’t put it in his mouth again after that! It totally worked!
They played and laughed for quite a while and then as any one year old, they were over it. We went right into the bathtub and cleanup commenced! This was such a fun messy activity and I can’t wait to do edible playdough this week!! Follow up next week for pictures and recipes for that as well!
You sure are a hands on”Mommy”. Love reading your busy days & God Bless you !! ❤️
