Green Flag to the Weekend

We have a ‘packed full’ weekend starting tonight. In April, we lost my brother-in-law and he was also a race car driver. His Memorial race is going to be tonight. The kids will be coming and Bryan is also racing. He is in a different class then what our brother-in-law raced, so he is racing his heat race on Friday and then racing on Saturday as well. It’s not an easy night but we know that he wouldn’t want it any other way. While the weather hopefully cooperates, we will have a night of celebrating his life.

Saturday morning, we are going to start early. The kids are going to hang out at my parents while Bryan and I go help setup for the Spaghetti dinner we are doing for my Brother’s family. If you’ve been reading, you know that my brother, his wife, and their two children lost their home to a fire.

As I said, Bryan is going to race on Saturday night so after a morning of preparation, we are heading back to the races. Then it’s another early start (earlier than we usually start on Sunday’s) and we are helping prepare everything for the benefit.

It is truly amazing to see the outpouring of love to those when they are going through hard times. I am so proud to be from a place that reacts to situations the way they do. I have the best friends and family and our friends and family have the best friends and family too.

The amount of people that have made this happen for my brother is amazing. It makes me appreciate being from a small town. I also love the fact that I stayed in that small town.

With that, we will have to miss church but it will be worth it to watch this all be put on for my brother. Praying for a safe and steady weekend for us. Praying that everything goes smoothly for all involved with both events this weekend.

On Monday, I have a book releasing so I have things to wrap up with that, too! Writing this out, I just realized how busy I’m going to be this weekend. Haha. I better go start packing a bag or something!
