Go Mode

Holidays that involve a day off in the middle of the week, usually mean more work. Since both sides of our families are so close in distance, we see both sides for every holiday! For the past ten years we’ve done lunchtime at Bryan’s side and dinner time at my side.

Now that we have three babies in tow, it makes it A LOT more interesting! We start our day early on getting everyone ready. We have checklists that we go through to make sure that we have everything in order and off we go!

We had a wonderful Fourth of July spent with our loved ones. Now that it’s over, it brings to light the entire day missed. Especially since Wednesday is my mid-week cleaning day.

This morning, I woke up and I was in total ‘go mode’. The exhaustion can catch up to me later, there is so much to get done. We missed laundry and taking the garbage out. I also didn’t finish the dishes for the stuff that I made to take to our picnic. My whole house in disarray right now.

Meanwhile, my kids nap for about ten minutes, except Brody, he’s a great napper. So, that leaves little time to do everything that needs done. Especially since Bryan wants to mow the grass when he gets home. That leaves me without an extra set of hands to field the kids around so I can clean my floors.

Bryan needs a warning whenever ‘go mode’ is in full swing at the Wagner Household. No time to sit down and relax whenever there is so much to do. Needless to say, it stormed all day so the grass will have to wait for another day. I had some pretty cranky kids on my hands when Bryan did get home. We were stuck inside all day so they were like caged animals.

We had dinner and then took the kids for a walk but in the meantime, I caught up on all my laundry and cleaned my kitchen. I’ll clean my floors once the kids are asleep, but I’m feeling much better now.

We have one week until (fingers crossed) Brody’s cast comes off! Until then, I’ll probably be catching up from the day we missed at home yesterday! Good thing it was totally worth it!
